I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I am blessed with a God-given talent that has been handed down from generation to generation from both sides of my family.
I mainly work in oil or watercolor. I love both media for the individual special qualities of each one. Choosing which one to use depends on what I envision and my mood at the time!
Detail both intrigues me and challenges me. If I see something that I feel is amazing, interesting or unusual I want to paint it using my point of view; the way I see it.
Aside from an excellent teacher in junior high school, I am pretty much a self-taught artist. I went to work as a commercial artist and illustrator at age 15, and then built my business as a successful free-lance artist, working in the trade for over 38 years.
I am fortunate enough to have won many awards for my work in both watercolor and oil, for which I am truly grateful.
I am a very active volunteer in local art organizations, and support many others. I enjoy it and it is my way of giving-back.
